IIT Kanpur Recruitment 2026: 80 Vacancies Announced
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has released a recruitment notification for multiple Group A, Group B, and Group C posts, inviting applications for regular appointments across various departments. According to Advertisement No. 1/2026, the institute aims to fill 80 vacancies in fields such as engineering, administration, medical services, technical support, and laboratory assistance.
Available Positions
The recruitment includes senior roles like Superintending Engineer, Deputy Registrar, Executive Engineer, and Assistant Registrar, along with medical, counseling, and hospitality positions. Technical posts form a major part of the vacancies, including Junior Technical Superintendent, Junior Technician, and Junior Assistant across different departments.
Salary and Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
- Group A posts: Most require a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience.
- Technical posts: Require engineering degrees, diplomas, or science qualifications along with hands-on experience.
- Group B and C posts: Candidates with bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, or relevant technical qualifications can apply, depending on the role.
Age limits are set at up to 45 years for Group A posts, 35 years for Group B posts, and 30 years for Group C posts, with relaxations for reserved categories as per government rules.
