For many Class 12 students, the weeks following board results are filled with cut-offs, course combinations, and endless discussions about college choices. Miranda House is now inviting students to step away from admission portals for a few hours and walk through the campus before making those decisions.
Open House Sessions Announced
The Delhi University college has announced a series of open house sessions for girls who have recently passed Class 12 and are preparing for admissions through the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG). The sessions will be held from June 17 to June 19 and again on June 22. Students and their families will be able to interact with the principal, faculty members, current students, and alumnae while learning more about academics and campus life.
A Look Beyond Brochures
The open house aims to give prospective students a more direct view of what life inside the institution looks like. Visitors will be taken on guided tours of the campus, including the library, laboratories, academic departments, and sports facilities. The idea is to familiarise aspirants with the environment they could become a part of in the coming months. The college said the programme will also include interactions with students and faculty members to help aspirants understand academic expectations, extracurricular opportunities, and the admission process.
Questions on Courses, Campus, and Admissions
A key part of the open house will be interactive question-and-answer sessions. Students preparing for undergraduate admissions often have questions about courses, college societies, hostel facilities, internships, and academic workload. The sessions are expected to provide a platform where these concerns can be discussed directly with those already studying and teaching at the college. Miranda House Principal Dr Bijayalaxmi Nanda said the initiative would allow students and parents to experience the institution first-hand and make informed decisions about higher education. The college added that registrations will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis through the QR code available on the official open house poster.
Why This Matters
The admission season is entering a crucial phase, with many students awaiting the next steps after appearing for CUET-UG. While entrance scores may determine eligibility, choosing where to spend the next three or four years remains a separate decision altogether. The open house is an attempt to bridge that gap.
