Patliputra University Extends UG Admission Deadline to June 6

In a significant move that brings relief to aspiring undergraduate students, Patliputra University (PPU) has extended the deadline for online applications for admission to Degree Part-I undergraduate (UG) courses under the four-year choice based credit system (CBCS) programme.

New Deadline Announced

According to PPU registrar Abu Bakar, the last date for submitting online applications was earlier fixed as May 31. However, the university administration has now decided to extend the deadline till June 6 to provide another opportunity to students who have not yet completed the admission process. He added that the response to the admission drive has been highly encouraging, with nearly 75,000 students having submitted their applications for admission to various undergraduate courses so far.

Seat Capacity and New Colleges

PPU offers around 1.25 lakh seats in regular degree programmes across the arts, science, and commerce streams in both constituent and affiliated colleges. In addition, the university will admit students to newly-established 16 degree colleges at block-level during the current academic session 2026-27, Bakar said. The number of colleges participating in the admission process has thus increased further, providing more opportunities for students.

Online Application Process

According to the registrar, the admission process is being carried out online, and students have been advised to complete their applications well before the revised deadline to avoid last-minute technical difficulties. He said interested candidates can apply online through the university portal www.ppup.ac.in or directly through the www.ppupadm.samrath.edu.in portal. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this extended period to ensure their applications are submitted without any issues.

This extension comes as a welcome step for many students who may have missed the original deadline. With nearly 75,000 applications already received, the university expects the remaining seats to be filled efficiently through the extended window. The additional 16 degree colleges at the block level will also help in accommodating more students and expanding access to higher education in the region.
