CGPSC SSE 2025: Apply for 238 Posts from Dec 1

The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has officially commenced the recruitment process for the prestigious State Services Examination (SSE) 2025. This major recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 238 vacancies across various administrative and departmental posts within the state government. Aspiring candidates can submit their applications online through the official portal, psc.cg.gov.in, starting from 1 December 2025.

Key Details and Eligibility for CGPSC SSE 2025

The application window will remain open until 30 December 2025. The commission is inviting applications for several key positions, including Labour Officer and Assistant Jailor, among other Group-level roles. The primary eligibility criterion mandates that applicants must possess a graduate degree from a recognised university.

Prospective applicants are strongly advised to meticulously review the official notification for specific post-wise educational qualifications, age limits, and other essential conditions before proceeding with their application. The commission will implement reservation policies and age relaxation norms as per the prevailing rules of the Chhattisgarh state government.

The Three-Stage Selection Process Explained

The CGPSC will adhere to its established three-tier selection system to identify the most suitable candidates for these coveted positions.

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

The first hurdle is the Preliminary Examination, which consists of two objective-type papers. General Studies (Paper I) and the Aptitude Test (Paper II) are each worth 200 marks, with a duration of two hours per paper. Candidates should note that there will be a negative marking of one-third of the marks allotted for every incorrect answer.

It is crucial to understand that Paper II is qualifying in nature. The shortlisting of candidates for the Main Examination will be based solely on the scores obtained in Paper I. The minimum qualifying marks are set at 33% for the unreserved category and 23% for reserved categories. Importantly, the Preliminary Exam acts only as a screening test, and its marks are not considered for the final merit list.

Stage 2: Main Examination

Candidates who clear the prelims will advance to the Main Examination. This stage comprises seven descriptive papers, each carrying 200 marks. The papers include Language, Essay, and five General Studies papers (I to V). Each paper has a duration of three hours, making the total marks for the Mains 1400.

Attendance in all seven papers is compulsory. Failure to appear for any single paper will result in the candidate's disqualification from the entire process.

Stage 3: Interview and Final Merit

The final stage is the Interview or Personality Test, which carries 100 marks. Typically, candidates up to three times the number of available vacancies are called for this round, provided they secure the prescribed minimum marks in the Main Examination.

The final selection will be based on the combined performance in the Main Examination (1400 marks) and the Interview (100 marks). The commission may also release supplementary merit lists, which can include up to 25% of the candidates on the main list.
