What is the JEE Main City Intimation Slip?
The city intimation slip is a preliminary document issued by the NTA to inform candidates about the city where their examination centre will be located. It is vital for students to note that this slip does not contain the full address of the exam centre. Its primary purpose is to help candidates start planning their travel and accommodation logistics well in advance of the actual exam dates. Authorities emphasize that the intimation slip is not a substitute for the official admit card, which will be released closer to the exam.
Key Dates and Download Process for JEE Main 2026
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam is scheduled to be held from January 21, 2026. The examination will be conducted for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) and Papers 2A & 2B (BArch and BPlanning). Once released, candidates must download their city intimation slip exclusively from the official JEE Main website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Following this, the JEE Main 2026 admit cards will be made available for download three to four days before the examination date. Candidates are advised to download their admit card immediately upon release, as it is a mandatory document for entry into the examination hall. The results for the January session are slated to be declared on February 12, 2026.
