Mysuru district has witnessed a remarkable improvement in the SSLC examination results this year, with the pass percentage soaring by 27 percent. However, despite this significant achievement, the district's state ranking has slipped to the 20th position from the previous 15th.
Fewer Failures and Top Performers
This year, less than 2,000 students failed the exam, a dramatic decrease from over 11,000 in the previous year. Among the top performers, Madhuri of KPS, Yelwala, and Manasvi Pradeep of Vijaya Vittal School shared the top spot in Mysuru with 624 marks each. Lakshan of Adarsha Vidyalaya secured the second position with 622 marks out of 625.
Overall Performance Statistics
DDPI D Uday Kumar, who is pleased with the excellent pass percentage of 94.5 percent, reported that out of 33,976 students who appeared for the exams, 32,105 passed. Notably, 16 students scored more than 620 marks, and approximately 482 students achieved over 600 marks. Additionally, 249 schools, including 77 government schools, achieved a 100 percent pass rate. The district has a total of 703 high schools.
According to Uday Kumar, the pass percentage increased from 67 percent last year to 95 percent this year, a rise of about 27 percent. He attributed this success to the relentless efforts of teachers, Block Education Officers (BEOs), and education department staff. This year, only 1,870 students failed, compared to 11,000 in 2025.
State Ranking Clarification
In response to a query, the DDPI clarified that the state-level ranking of districts is not directly comparable because the number of students appearing for exams varies significantly across districts. Mysuru has a larger student population, which affects its ranking despite the improved performance.
