NEET UG 2026: NTA Issues Key Document Advisory for Aspirants
NEET UG 2026: NTA Advisory on Aadhaar, UDID, Category Certificates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a crucial pre-registration advisory for all candidates intending to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) in 2026. This notice, released ahead of the official registration commencement, urges students to meticulously verify and update their essential documents to ensure a smooth application process.

Mandatory Aadhaar Verification and Update

The NTA has specifically instructed aspirants to ensure their Aadhaar Card details are fully updated and accurate. All information on the Aadhaar must match exactly with the details that will be filled in the NEET UG 2026 application form. Any discrepancy can lead to significant issues during registration, document verification, or later admission stages.

Students must check and correct, if necessary, the following key details on their Aadhaar:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Photograph
  • Registered Address
  • Biometric information

Candidates can update their Aadhaar information by visiting the official Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) portal at uidai.gov.in or by going to any authorized Aadhaar enrolment or update centre.

Important Guidelines for Reserved Categories and PwD Candidates

The public notice also contains specific instructions for candidates applying under reserved categories and those with disabilities.

For students with benchmark disabilities, the NTA advises against using a Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card unless it is valid, updated, and duly renewed. Submitting an expired or incorrect UDID card may result in verification failures.

Similarly, candidates applying under reserved quotas such as Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), or other applicable categories must ensure their category certificate is current and issued as per the latest government guidelines.

Stay Prepared for Upcoming Registration

The NTA has clarified that the detailed schedule and exact dates for NEET UG 2026 registration will be announced shortly on its official websites. Prospective applicants are strongly advised to keep checking the NTA portals—nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in—for all official updates, instructions, and notices.

By proactively organizing and updating their Aadhaar, UDID, and category certificates now, students can avoid last-minute rushes and potential disqualifications, paving the way for a hassle-free application journey for one of India's most competitive medical entrance exams.
