The Railway Recruitment Boards are gearing up to launch the much-anticipated RRB Group D Examination 2025, marking the beginning of an extensive recruitment drive across India. The computer-based test is scheduled to commence on 27 November 2025 and will continue through 16 January 2026, conducted in multiple shifts nationwide.
Examination Pattern and Subject Distribution
The RRB Group D question paper will feature 100 objective-type questions divided into four core sections. Candidates will need to demonstrate proficiency across diverse subjects within the 90-minute timeframe.
The subject-wise distribution reveals a comprehensive testing approach: General Science and Mathematics each carry 25 questions, while General Intelligence and Reasoning constitutes the largest section with 30 questions. The remaining 20 questions focus on General Awareness and Current Affairs, testing candidates' knowledge of recent developments and factual information.
Marking Scheme and Strategic Approach
A crucial aspect that candidates must note is the negative marking system implemented in the examination. For every incorrect response, one-third of the marks assigned to that particular question will be deducted. This system emphasizes the importance of accuracy over guesswork, prompting aspirants to answer only those questions they are reasonably confident about to avoid unnecessary score reduction.
Essential Exam Day Guidelines
With the examination beginning soon, candidates must prepare for strict protocol adherence on test day. The foremost requirement is carrying the electronic admit card (e-admit card), without which entry to the examination center will be denied.
Punctuality is equally critical, as candidates must arrive at the venue strictly according to the timing specified on their admit card. Late arrivals risk disqualification from the examination session due to security procedures and entry regulations.
The list of prohibited items is extensive and includes all electronic devices such as mobile phones, Bluetooth gadgets, laptops, calculators, and even wristwatches. Additionally, personal items like pens, pencils, wallets, purses, belts, shoes, and metallic accessories including jewelry are strictly forbidden within the examination hall.
