The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced a revised schedule for its Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) 2023 Mains examination. The decision comes in response to requests from candidates who faced a potential clash with another significant state recruitment test.
New Exam Dates and Detailed Schedule
Originally planned for January 31 and February 1, 2026, the crucial mains examination will now be conducted on February 2 and 3, 2026. The change was necessary as the previous dates conflicted with the Junior Assistant 2024 examination administered by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission.
The Commission has released a detailed timetable for the rescheduled tests:
- February 2, 2026: General Studies (Paper 1) from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
- February 2, 2026: Hindi & Drafting (Subjective) from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
- February 2, 2026: General Vocabulary & Grammar (Objective) from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
- February 3, 2026: Hindi Essay from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
This mains examination is a critical step for the 7,509 candidates who were shortlisted based on their performance in the preliminary exam, the results of which were declared on September 16, 2025. These candidates are competing for a total of 419 vacancies.
Ayush Department Recruitment Updates
In a separate but related development, UPPSC has provided updates on recruitment within the Ayush department. Interviews for five direct recruitment posts have been scheduled for the last week of January 2026.
The posts include:
- Reader (Rog Nidan) in the Ayush Ayurveda Department: 4 posts.
- Professor (Ilmul Atfal) at the Government Unani Medical College: 1 post.
Furthermore, the Commission has concluded the selection process for two posts of Reader (Kaumar Bhritya) under the Ayush (Ayurveda) Department. Out of 21 applicants, seven candidates appeared for the interview held on January 7, 2026. The successful candidates selected for these positions are Nitin Sharma and Anju.
Other Key Recruitment News
Meanwhile, in other significant recruitment news, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the final answer key, response sheets, and individual scorecards for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025 Tier-I. Candidates who appeared for this nationwide exam can now log in to the official SSC website using their registration credentials to access their scores and review their performance.
The UPPSC's proactive revision of the RO/ARO mains exam dates underscores its responsiveness to candidate concerns, ensuring a fair and clash-free examination process for thousands of aspirants in Uttar Pradesh.
