The University of Delhi (DU) has officially released the first round of seat allocations for its postgraduate programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. A total of 11,548 candidates have been offered seats across 74 different courses in this initial round.
Seat Allocation Details
The Round 1 allocations were made live on Monday for 74 postgraduate programmes. Seats have been allocated under various categories including Unreserved (UR), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), Kashmiri Migrants (KM), Single Girl Child (SGC), and Orphan categories.
Important Dates for Candidates
According to the university, candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round can accept their allocations until June 17. The deadline for payment of admission fees is June 19. It is crucial for candidates to complete these steps within the stipulated timeframe to secure their seats.
Performance-Based Programmes
DU has stated that admissions to performance-based programmes, including MA Music, Master of Physical Education (MPEd), Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), and Master of Fine Arts (MFA), as well as admissions under the CW and Sports categories, will be conducted along with the third round of admissions. Candidates who have applied to these programmes have been advised to visit the websites of the respective departments for details regarding auditions, performance tests, and other admission-related schedules.
Admission Process
The postgraduate admission process is being conducted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-PG) based on candidates’ CUET-PG scores and programme-specific eligibility criteria. This system ensures a transparent and merit-based allocation of seats.

With more than 11,500 seats allotted in the opening round, the university has initiated the next phase of admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.
