East Uttar Pradesh's First AI Center of Excellence Set for Inauguration in Gorakhpur
Gorakhpur is poised to witness a significant technological milestone as East Uttar Pradesh prepares to launch its inaugural Center of Excellence at the Maharana Pratap Institute of Technology. This state-of-the-art facility, established through a strategic collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services, will be officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on April 15. The ceremony will be graced by the presence of Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran, marking a pivotal moment for regional development.
Ambitious 'AI for All' Training Programme Aims for World Record
Coinciding with the center's launch, a groundbreaking initiative seeks to enroll an unprecedented five lakh youths in a comprehensive 60-day free training programme titled 'AI for All'. This ambitious effort is designed to set a world record, democratizing access to artificial intelligence education across the state. The programme is a joint venture organized by MPIT, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, TCS, and Mahyogi Gorakhnath University, showcasing a robust public-private partnership.
Registrations for this transformative programme remain open until April 9, offering a unique opportunity for young individuals to engage with cutting-edge technologies. According to MPIT director Sudhir Agrawal, the primary objective is to connect half a million youths with emerging technologies, providing them with hands-on exposure and practical skills that are crucial in today's digital economy.
Dual Focus: Youth Empowerment and Agricultural Innovation
In addition to the youth-centric programme, a parallel 'AI Awareness for Farmers' workshop will be conducted, targeting approximately 1,000 farmers and agriculture students. This free workshop aims to integrate artificial intelligence into agricultural practices, potentially revolutionizing farming techniques and productivity in the region. By bridging the gap between technology and traditional sectors, this initiative underscores a holistic approach to development.
The newly established Center of Excellence is expected to extend its benefits beyond MPIT, positively impacting 15 AICTE-approved institutions, including the prestigious Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology. This expansion is set to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, fostering innovation and research that aligns with global standards. The facility will serve as a hub for advanced learning, research, and development, positioning East Uttar Pradesh as a burgeoning tech hub in India.
This initiative represents a significant leap forward in educational and technological advancement for the region, promising to equip the next generation with the tools needed to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven world.
