IIT Gandhinagar Pioneers GenAI Education with Three New PG Diplomas
The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) has unveiled an ambitious educational initiative, launching three groundbreaking postgraduate diploma programmes focused on Generative AI and emerging technologies. These six-month, fully residential programs represent a significant step toward building India's digital workforce capabilities.
Programme Details and February 2026 Launch
Through its Competency Development Foundation and in collaboration with Futurense Technologies, IIT Gandhinagar will offer three specialized programmes beginning February 2026. The courses include PG Diploma in AI and Agentic AI Engineering, PG Diploma in GenAI and Data Science Engineering, and PG Diploma in AI-Powered Software Engineering with Cloud.
Each programme maintains exclusivity with only 60 students admitted through a rigorous selection process. Candidates must clear the All India National Proficiency Test (AINPT) followed by a multi-stage interview process, ensuring only the most qualified applicants secure seats.
Immersive Learning and Industry-Ready Curriculum
The programmes are designed with a build, deploy, scale philosophy, delivering over 600 hours of intensive bootcamp-style learning. According to institute officials, this immersive approach equips students with skills equivalent to approximately two years of industry experience.
