India's Education System Now World-Class, Says Padma Shri Biologist
Eminent biologist and Padma Shri recipient Prof Aditya Prasad Dash has declared that the development of education and research across various disciplines in India has reached a level where students no longer need to travel to other countries to build successful careers. He made these remarks while inaugurating the annual function 'Ullasika' at DAV Public School, Rajabagicha, recently.
National Education Policy to Strengthen System Further
Attending the event as the chief guest, Prof Dash emphasized that the National Education Policy-2020 will only serve to strengthen the Indian education system further. He highlighted the importance of integrating values alongside academic knowledge, stating that knowledge alone is insufficient for success. According to him, integrity and a positive mindset play a crucial role in shaping responsible and successful citizens.
DAV Institutions Emphasize Values and Discipline
Regional director of DAV Institutions (Odisha zone) K C Satpathy and chairperson of DAV Rajabagicha, Kanchanbala Patnaik, also addressed the gathering, urging students to uphold honesty and self-discipline. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including principals and chairpersons from various DAV institutions across Odisha. Principal Sujata Mishra highlighted the school's achievements in the last academic session.
On this occasion, the school magazine was unveiled by the guests, and meritorious students were felicitated. The programme concluded with colourful cultural performances by students, showcasing their talent and creativity.
Infrastructure Boost for Talcher School
In a related development, a new academic block with 20 classrooms was inaugurated at DAV Public School, MCL Jagannath Area, during the two-day annual day AMEYA 3.0 celebration. Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for another building comprising 30 classrooms. An art exhibition titled 'Chitrotsav' was also inaugurated by dignitaries on this occasion.
School alumnus Swat Yadav, who secured the 50th rank in the Odisha Civil Services examination, was felicitated for her achievement. Several students were honoured for outstanding performance in both scholastic and co-scholastic fields, while trophies for CCA champion and runners-up were awarded to the winning houses.
The school magazine, The Bliss, was unveiled, and the dignitaries lauded the institution for its consistent progress and holistic development over the years. The principal highlighted the school's journey and achievements, marking the beginning of its tricentennial celebrations. The programme concluded on a vibrant note with cultural performances reflecting students' creativity and talent.
IIT Bhubaneswar Achieves Green Audit Certification
In another significant achievement, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar has successfully completed a comprehensive green audit of its campus. It has been awarded a Green Audit Certificate in accordance with the provisions of the National Building Code 2016 (Part 11) and the directives of NAAC and NABCB. This milestone underscores the Institute's continued commitment towards environmental sustainability and responsible campus management, as confirmed by officials.
