Kanpur University's Golden Jubilee Conclave Spurs Agri-Tech Innovation

In a significant boost to agricultural and technological entrepreneurship, Chandrashekhar Azad Agriculture and Technology University in Kanpur inaugurated a three-day entrepreneurship conclave as part of its Golden Jubilee year celebrations. The event, marked by high-level participation and strategic collaborations, aims to foster innovation and self-reliance among youth.

Strategic Partnerships and MoUs

The university solidified its commitment to advancement by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with three prominent state institutions: HVTU (Harcourt Butler Technical University), IIT Kanpur, and the FFDC (Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre) in Kannauj. These partnerships are expected to enhance research, technology transfer, and entrepreneurial support in agriculture and allied sectors.

High-Profile Inauguration and Key Addresses

Vice-Chancellor K Vijayendra Pandian welcomed dignitaries and attendees, setting the tone for the conclave. A short film highlighting the history of MSME and the university's agricultural contributions was screened, emphasizing its legacy and future potential.

Rakesh Sachan, Minister for Micro, Small, Khadi, and Medium Village Industries, announced a milestone achievement: over 19 lakh youths in the state have been made self-reliant through loan provisions. He outlined the conclave's focus areas, including manufacturing, food technology, textiles, and other emerging technologies, aiming to drive economic growth.

Chief guest Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister for Agriculture, underscored the synergy between MSME and agriculture in creating employment opportunities in new sectors. He commended the university for developing innovative crop varieties and stressed the urgent need to expand the cultivation area and production of pulses and oilseeds. Shahi advocated for the establishment of agriculture-based industries to boost rural economies.

Exhibition and Technological Showcase

The event featured an extensive exhibition with more than 150 stalls, where various enterprises demonstrated cutting-edge technologies. This platform allowed entrepreneurs, scientists, and students to engage directly with innovations in agri-tech and small-scale industries.

In a nod to academic contributions, three books authored by university scientists were released during the conclave, highlighting research and development efforts.
