Lucknow University Issues Strict Timelines for College Course Affiliations and Renewals
In a significant move to streamline academic processes, Lucknow University has directed all its affiliated colleges to apply for the renewal of their undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Simultaneously, the university has called upon new colleges to submit applications for affiliation to run courses, adhering strictly to the Uttar Pradesh government's revised schedule for obtaining a No-Objection Certificate (NOC).
Revised Government Timetable for NOC and Affiliation Proposals
According to LU spokesperson Mukul Srivastava, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued a revised timetable for the online processing of NOC and affiliation proposals for the 2026–27 academic session. This applies specifically to new courses or subjects, excluding BEd programs, in both new and existing colleges.
The deadline for submitting NOC proposals for new courses to be offered by a college is set for February 18. Srivastava emphasized that this timeline is critical for ensuring timely approvals and smooth academic operations.
Procedures for New Colleges and Land Verification
For the establishment of new colleges, the revenue department will conduct thorough verifications of land records. Proposals must be submitted online to the university by February 22 to facilitate this process. Following verification, NOC orders will be issued online by February 28, as per the government's directive.
Srivastava highlighted that it is mandatory for all proposed new colleges and existing colleges seeking NOC or affiliation for new courses to complete their applications and subsequent proceedings in accordance with the timetable outlined on the government's dedicated NOC/affiliation portal: henoc.upsdc.gov.in.
Renewal of Affiliation for Existing Colleges
In addition to new applications, colleges affiliated with Lucknow University in districts including Lucknow, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, and Lakhimpur Kheri have been directed to apply for permanent affiliation. This applies specifically to courses other than BEd, whose current affiliation is set to expire on June 1.
These colleges must align their applications with the government order for the 2026–27 academic session, ensuring continuity in their educational offerings without disruption.
Mandatory Online Inspections for Affiliated Colleges
To maintain standards and compliance, Srivastava stated that all affiliated colleges are required to obtain a board of inspection through an online application on the same portal, henoc.upsdc.gov.in. This step is crucial for verifying infrastructure, faculty qualifications, and other essential criteria as part of the affiliation renewal process.
The university's proactive measures aim to enhance transparency and efficiency in the affiliation system, benefiting both educational institutions and students across the region.
