Ludhiana Colleges Conduct Diverse Activities During NSS Camps

Ludhiana witnessed a series of engaging events as part of the ongoing National Service Scheme camps. These camps are taking place at three prominent institutions: Satish Chander Dhawan Government College, Government College for Girls, and Khalsa College for Women.

Government College for Girls Emphasizes Community Service

The seven-day camp at Government College for Girls focused strongly on community outreach. Under the leadership of Principal Suman Lata, students participated in various activities that blended patriotic spirit with practical service.

In collaboration with the Ludhiana Hospital Society, organizers arranged a blood donation camp at Chak Sarwan Nath village. Twenty NSS volunteers joined local villagers in donating blood. The event also included distribution of essential multivitamin medicines to promote public health awareness.

The camp featured an 'Ek Bharat Unity in Diversity' rally that celebrated India's cultural variety. Students enjoyed nutritional food stalls and watched AdMad shows. A reel-making competition on the theme "My Vision for a Developed India" allowed creative expression. These activities reinforced the camp's core theme of 'Ek Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat'.

Khalsa College for Women Focuses on Inspiration and Digital Safety

Khalsa College for Women marked Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary with special programming. Gurpreet Kaur from Khalsa College, Civil Lines delivered a speech highlighting the spiritual leader's life, teachings, and enduring ideals.

The college also addressed contemporary concerns through a cyber security lecture. Jyoti Rani, Assistant Regional Director at the Council of Cyber Vigilance and Security Enforcement, shared her expertise with participants. She covered critical topics including online safety practices, phishing scam identification, cyberbullying prevention, and data privacy protection. Rani emphasized the growing importance of digital awareness and responsible online behavior.

The program concluded with both indoor and outdoor games. Lakhveer Singh, an experienced Bhangra trainer, guided these recreational activities.

SCD Government College Prioritizes Health and Safety Training

Satish Chander Dhawan Government College designed its camp around practical health skills. The agenda included first aid instruction, CPR training, and blood pressure check-ups.

Each day began with the NSS theme song, fostering feelings of love, service, and national dedication among volunteers. On National Youth Day, participants paid homage to Swami Vivekananda. They took a pledge to incorporate his ideals into their daily lives.

Geetanjali Pabreja, Dean of Cultural Activities and former NSS Programme Officer, shared inspiring thoughts with volunteers. She spoke on significant themes including 'Viksit Bharat' and creating a drug-free society. Pabreja motivated young participants to avoid social evils and contribute positively to nation-building.

Dr. Rajesh Arya served as keynote speaker, providing practical information about CPR and blood pressure management. Dr. Ashish Ahuja from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital delivered a detailed talk on road safety and first aid procedures. He educated volunteers about correct steps to take during emergency situations.

Organizers conducted blood pressure check-ups for all volunteers. Participants received hands-on training in both BP measurement and CPR techniques. In the final session, volunteers prepared cultural performances for the camp's closing ceremony.

These NSS camps successfully combined skill development with community engagement, offering Ludhiana students valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom.
