This widespread adoption has created an urgent need for trained professionals who can operate drones safely and efficiently.
Comprehensive Training Programs and Certification
The academy will deliver professional drone pilot training aligned with DGCA guidelines, featuring:
- Practical flying sessions using advanced drone models
- Certification programs tailored to industry standards
- Career guidance and placement support
Training will specifically cover drones weighing above 250 grams and below 25 kilograms, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. The curriculum is designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience through modern equipment and simulation technology.
A Vision for Excellence in Aviation Technology
Shetty articulated the academy's mission, stating, "Our goal is to build a centre of excellence that prepares students for the future of aviation technology. The drone industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors, and through this academy we aim to create highly skilled, responsible, and certified drone professionals." The training duration is set to be less than 10 days, with successful trainees receiving a DGCA licence, which is mandatory for operating drones in the specified category.
Boosting Skill Development and Career Opportunities
The launch of this academy is expected to significantly enhance drone education and skill development in coastal Karnataka. It will open up new career avenues for youth interested in unmanned aviation and related technologies, contributing to regional economic growth and technological advancement. By fostering a skilled workforce, the initiative aligns with national efforts to promote innovation and self-reliance in the aviation sector.
