Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar inaugurated the 28th Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS) National PG Convention on Saturday at the KLE Centenary Convention Centre in Belagavi. The event is organized by the Department of Prosthodontics at KLE VK Institute of Dental Sciences.
Key Highlights of the Convention
More than 2,300 delegates from across the country are participating in the convention, which focuses on advancements and research in prosthodontics. The gathering serves as a platform for dental professionals to exchange knowledge and explore the latest innovations in the field.
Minister's Remarks
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Sudhakar highlighted that dental colleges have emerged in major cities of Karnataka, making higher education widely accessible. He noted that according to a NITI Aayog report submitted in 2025, Karnataka is far ahead of other states in higher education. The minister emphasized that the state remains a sought-after destination due to the presence of high-quality private and deemed-to-be universities offering specialized courses and modern infrastructure. Dr. Sudhakar also recalled his long association with the Indian Prosthodontic Society and the valuable learnings he gained from such conventions.

Dr. Prabhakar B Kore, Chancellor of KAHER, spoke about the transition towards painless and high-precision treatments through rapid technological adoption in dentistry. Dr. V Anandkumar, President of the Indian Prosthodontic Society, addressed the need to elevate the standards of prosthodontic practice across India.
