MNNIT Allahabad Launches Inaugural Student Community Day with AWS Cloud Clubs
The Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad in Prayagraj successfully hosted the first edition of Student Community Day (SCD), organized by AWS Cloud Clubs MNNIT. This flagship event attracted a diverse gathering of over 400 students, educators, and industry professionals for a comprehensive day focused on the convergence of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
Traditional Inauguration and Community Engagement
The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, led by Prof RS Verma, Director of MNNIT Allahabad, and Prof Mayank Pandey, Head of the Computer Science & Engineering Department. Kanishk Agrawal, founder and cloud captain of AWS Cloud Clubs MNNIT, delivered the community note, setting the tone for a day of learning and collaboration.
Expert-Led Technical Sessions on AI and Cloud
The speaker lineup provided students with invaluable insights into real-world applications of cloud and AI technologies. Vraj Chaubal, co-founder of a stealth AI startup and AWS Community Builder, conducted a workshop on cloud strategy and generative AI, sharing his expertise in scaling GenAI solutions for startups.
Yash Sagar Santani, a full-stack engineer at XcelPros in Berlin, led an expert session on Agentic AI, delving into the development of autonomous systems capable of complex, independent reasoning. Harshil Raj, an AI systems and automation specialist, guided participants through building production-ready AI workflows that extend beyond the current generative AI trends.
Sagar Shah, Senior Engineer at Logitech and creator of Cosmic-OS, concluded the technical sessions with an in-depth exploration of AOSP, build systems, and large-scale CI/CD pipelines.
Hackathon Finale and Panel Discussion
A highlight of the day was the grand finale of OPS 48, a 48-hour hackathon featuring over 90 teams from regional colleges. The top five teams presented their innovative solutions live on stage, with prize distributions recognizing the creativity and dedication of all participants.
The event wrapped up with an open panel discussion, closing remarks from speakers and faculty, a Student Note by Anurag Ranjan, AWS Cloud Club Head, and a Faculty Note from Prof. Sarsij Tripathi, Faculty Club In-Charge.
Setting a Precedent for Future Events
Student Community Day 2026 established a strong foundation for future editions, demonstrating that student-led communities can organize events with significant technical and professional depth. This initiative underscores the growing importance of hands-on learning and industry-academia collaboration in emerging tech fields.
