MPPSC Aims to Clear Pending Professor Interviews Before July Session

MPPSC Intensifies Efforts to Finalize Assistant Professor Recruitment Interviews

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) is ramping up its efforts to clear a backlog of pending interviews for assistant professor positions before moving forward with subsequent examination rounds. In a strategic push, the commission has outlined plans to conduct interviews for at least two to three subjects each month, aiming to wrap up this long-delayed selection process efficiently.

Phased Interview Schedule and Upcoming Rounds

Officials have confirmed that the next phase of interviews is set to commence on March 15, starting with the geology subject, which has 15 available posts. Additionally, interviews for another subject are expected to be scheduled later this month. This phased approach will extend through April, May, and June, as the commission works systematically to cover multiple subjects. So far, interviews for four subjects have been successfully completed, and dates for three more have already been announced. The remaining subjects will be scheduled in the coming weeks, with high-vacancy areas like chemistry, Hindi, and physics likely addressed in the final rounds.

Background on the Recruitment Drive and Academic Timeline

The assistant professor recruitment examination was administered last year in two phases: on June 1 and July 27. The first phase encompassed 14 subjects with 1,618 posts, while the second phase included nine subjects for nearly 300 posts. This comprehensive recruitment drive also includes 187 sports officer positions and 80 librarian posts. Commission OSD R Panchbhai emphasized that the goal is to complete the remaining interviews in a well-planned manner to ensure the recruitment process advances without unnecessary delays.

The commission is operating under tight deadlines, as the new academic session in government colleges is slated to begin on July 1. Authorities are striving to release selection lists for most subjects before this date to facilitate timely appointments and smooth transitions into the academic year.

New Recruitment Notification and Examination Updates

In parallel, the MPPSC has issued a fresh notification for assistant professor recruitment in 2025, covering 1,239 posts across 19 subjects. The written examinations for this round are scheduled for July 12, August 2, and August 30. Notably, this examination will introduce negative marking for the first time, adding a new layer of rigor to the selection process.

This dual focus on clearing pending interviews and launching new recruitment initiatives underscores the commission's commitment to streamlining academic staffing in Madhya Pradesh, ensuring that educational institutions are adequately equipped for the upcoming sessions.
