Nagpur Schools Adopt AI Training for Teachers in Digital Shift

Nagpur Schools Undergo Digital Transformation with AI Integration

Classrooms within Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) schools are witnessing a significant digital evolution, as educators transition from conventional teaching approaches to adopt advanced AI-powered tools. This shift aims to modernize the academic environment, preparing both teachers and students for a technology-driven future.

Comprehensive AI Training Programme Launched

Teachers are receiving extensive training to incorporate artificial intelligence into their daily instructional practices. The curriculum covers a wide range of skills, including utilizing ChatGPT, leveraging MS Word with Copilot integration, applying AI in teaching methodologies, identifying potential AI security breaches, managing student attendance systems, calculating result percentages, and mastering basic laptop operations. This initiative is designed to empower educators to develop engaging teaching materials, detailed lesson plans, comprehensive notes, and educational content in a fraction of the time previously required.

Enhancing Teaching Efficiency and Student Outcomes

The AI training programme focuses on equipping teachers with modern tools and innovative classroom techniques, aligning NMC school education with the demands of the digital age. By integrating AI, the initiative seeks to boost teaching efficiency and improve student learning outcomes across all NMC schools. It represents a proactive step towards ensuring that students from these institutions remain competitive in rapidly evolving academic and professional landscapes.

Collaborative Efforts and Official Support

Organized by Robotex India, the training sessions are being conducted at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee e-Library under the 'Establishment of Microsoft Educator AI Academy for Skilling and Economic Empowerment (EASE)' initiative. Nagpur has been designated as a regional hub for this programme, with sessions commencing on April 2. During a visit on Saturday, NMC additional municipal commissioner Vaishnavi B interacted with participating teachers, urging them to actively integrate artificial intelligence into their teaching practices.

Vaishnavi B emphasized the critical role of guiding students in the responsible use of technology, stating, "AI training offers an excellent opportunity for teachers in a rapidly changing technological era. It will help ensure that students from NMC schools are not left behind in competitive environments." She added that this initiative would not only upgrade teachers' skills but also significantly contribute to students' overall development.

Key Participants and Future Implications

The training programme saw the presence of education officer Madhuri Katkar, school inspector Prashant Tembhurne, along with headmasters, teachers, and representatives from Robotex India, including Revati Phanse and Mohit Wakode. This collaborative effort underscores a commitment to fostering a digitally literate educational ecosystem in Nagpur, setting a precedent for other regions to follow in embracing AI-driven innovations in schooling.
