The 12th Annual NCC Festival, held at Janki Devi Memorial College under Delhi University, brought the concept of Veerangana—symbolizing courageous womanhood—to vibrant life on February 21. Organized by the National Cadet Corps, 5 Delhi Girls Battalion, the event showcased discipline, camaraderie, and competitive zeal.

Distinguished Guests and Leadership

The festival was graced by Pankaj Saroha, Joint Director of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat and Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, who served as the Chief Guest. Other esteemed officials included Colonel Hemant Kumar Shah, Commanding Officer of the 5 Delhi Girls Battalion; Major Richa Sharma, Administrative Officer; and Major (Prof) Sanjay Kumar, NCC University Coordinator. The festival commenced with the Best Cadet segment, setting a high standard for excellence. It progressed through a series of engaging activities:

  • Quarter Guard and Squad Drill, demonstrating precision and teamwork.
  • Obstacle Training and Tug of War, testing physical strength and strategic thinking.
  • Cultural Competitions, showcasing artistic talents and creativity.

Over 650 cadets participated enthusiastically, making the event a resounding success. The highlight was witnessing the best display of discipline and competitive zeal, fostering a sense of unity and inspiration among all involved.

All proceedings were expertly conducted under the guidance of Professor Swati Pal, Principal of Janki Devi Memorial College, and Lieutenant Dr. Debahuti Brahmachari, Associate NCC Officer.
