Odisha Student Team Tops National University of Singapore Fintech Programme

A team of students from Odisha has achieved a remarkable feat by securing first place among the top 10 capstone projects in the Certificate in Fintech & Insurtech (CFI) programme. This prestigious programme is conducted by the National University of Singapore's Asian Institute of Digital Finance, in partnership with the Global Finance and Technology Network.

International Recognition and Tokyo Presentation

In recognition of their outstanding project, the team received a prestigious invitation to present their innovative idea at the GFTN Japan Forum 2026. This significant international event was held in Tokyo last week, providing a global platform for fintech and insurtech innovations.

The winning team comprises B Simran, Puspajanli Behera, Manisha Lenka, Rajeshwari Behera, and Soumya Ranjan Baithalu from Ravenshaw University. They were joined by Sibansee Nayak from Utkal University and Anirban Kar from Salipur Autonomous College, showcasing collaborative excellence across multiple institutions.

Officials from Ravenshaw University emphasized the importance of this achievement, noting that the GFTN Japan Forum brought together global leaders and innovators from the fintech and insurtech sectors. Youth aged 18-25 registered through the MY Bharat Portal, with the event receiving over 200 registrations, demonstrating strong interest in civic engagement among young Odisha residents.

Top Performers Advance to State Competition

Students Kasish Dash, Biswaranjan Nayak, Madhusmita Bal, Bhabashree Jena, and Sushma Dash emerged as top performers in the competition. These students will now represent Balasore district at the state-level competition, with three participants expected to advance further to the national round, according to university sources.
