PRSU Student Clinches Gold Medal in National Hindi Elocution Championship
Raipur: Someshwar Prasad Ganjir, a dedicated student of Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU), has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the prestigious first position in the Hindi elocution competition at the 39th Inter-University National Youth Festival (UNIFEST). This significant victory highlights his exceptional oratory skills and commitment to promoting Hindi language excellence on a national platform.
National Recognition at AIU-Organized Event
The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), based in New Delhi, meticulously organized this grand event at the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai. The festival spanned five dynamic days from March 10 to 14, bringing together talented youth from universities across India. Ganjir, who is currently pursuing his fourth semester of MSc in Physics at Government Babu Chhotelal Shrivastav Post Graduate College in Dhamtari, competed against numerous participants from various states.
The competition centered on the compelling theme 'Nasha Mukt Bharat: Yuvaon Ki Pahal', which translates to 'Drug-Free India: Youth Initiative'. Ganjir's powerful and persuasive performance on this critical social issue impressed the judges, earning him a well-deserved gold medal and national acclaim.
Four-Year Journey Culminates in Historic Win
In an exclusive statement, Ganjir revealed his persistent dedication, stating, "I have participated in this competition for the last four consecutive years. I believe I am perhaps the first individual from Chhattisgarh to win the national-level Hindi elocution competition." This victory marks the culmination of years of hard work and perseverance, setting a new benchmark for students from the region.
Hailing from Kanker district, Ganjir attributes his profound oratorical abilities to his rich family heritage. He has been actively involved in Kavi Sammelans (poetry gatherings) and has delivered discourses on the Ramayan since his childhood. "My ancestors were deeply involved in delivering Ramayan pravachan (religious discourses), and this interest came to me naturally," he explained, emphasizing how his passion for Hindi flourished alongside his scientific academic background.
Academic and Extracurricular Leadership
Dr. Rajeev Choudhary, the Dean of Student Welfare at PRSU, extended heartfelt congratulations to Ganjir and his team manager, Daneshwar Sahu, who serves as an Assistant Professor at Government Girls' College in Dhamtari. This achievement underscores the strong support system within the university and the collaborative effort behind such successes.
Ganjir's leadership extends beyond elocution; he represented the student parliament as the 'Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh' during the Jal Jagar Mahotsav, demonstrating his commitment to environmental and social causes. His talents have also gained international recognition, as he was selected by the AIU for an upcoming international discussion competition, showcasing his potential on a global stage.
Consistent Excellence in Multiple Competitions
At the national level, Ganjir has consistently excelled, securing top positions in debate and discussion competitions held in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Within Chhattisgarh, he achieved first position in the Youth Environment Parliament and actively participated in speech competitions organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and accomplished speaker.
Additionally, Ganjir's creative prowess was recognized when he won the first prize in a jingle and poetry writing competition for a voter awareness campaign organized by the Dhamtari district administration. This multifaceted achievement highlights his ability to excel in both verbal and written expressions of Hindi, contributing to community engagement and public awareness initiatives.
This gold medal win not only celebrates Ganjir's individual talent but also inspires youth across Chhattisgarh and India to pursue excellence in language and communication, reinforcing the importance of cultural and linguistic pride in today's diverse academic landscape.
