Punjab Government Launches E-Sanad for Fast Digital Document Verification
The Punjab government has taken a major step towards digital governance. On Monday, it launched E-Sanad, a fully digital platform for verifying and authenticating educational documents. This move eliminates long queues, tedious paperwork, and weeks of waiting for students and alumni.
Revolutionizing the Verification Process
Under the Punjab School Education Board's E-Sanad service, individuals can now get their mark sheets and certificates verified online within a few days. This replaces the earlier process that took 40 to 45 days. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of PSEB passouts every year.
Punjab has become the second state in India to implement this reform. The service makes document verification for studies and employment abroad faster, paperless, and more citizen-centric.
Minister Highlights Benefits and Accessibility
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains launched the service. He stated that the facility is available for students and alumni who need verification of PSEB-issued documents. These needs include higher education, employment, professional requirements, and official purposes abroad.
Bains emphasized that the initiative reflects the state's commitment to digital governance. It also enhances the global credibility of educational certificates issued by the PSEB. He noted that nearly three lakh students pass out from PSEB-affiliated schools each year. Previous years' passouts can also use the service seamlessly.
How E-Sanad Works
The E-Sanad process involves digital verification by the PSEB first. After that, the Ministry of External Affairs authenticates the documents. The service covers both Hague Convention countries through Apostille and non-Hague countries through MEA attestation. Embassy attestation is included wherever required.
Fully Online and User-Friendly
PSEB Chairperson Dr. Amarpal Singh confirmed that the entire process is completely online and paperless. Applicants can find the portal link, payment gateway, and step-by-step instructions on the Board's official website. They do not need to visit the PSEB head office at any stage.
This digital transformation promises to streamline administrative tasks. It offers a significant convenience for Punjab's educational community.
