The University of Rajasthan maintained their impressive momentum in the ongoing All India Inter-University Handball Men tournament at the University Sports Complex in Jaipur on Wednesday. The five-day championship, organized by the University of Rajasthan Sports Board, features sixteen elite teams from across the nation competing for top honors.
Hosts Dominate Group C Match
In a commanding Group C performance, the host team decisively defeated Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla with a convincing 30-19 scoreline, securing their second consecutive victory. The eleven-goal margin demonstrated Rajasthan's offensive prowess and tactical superiority on their home court.
Key scorers for University of Rajasthan included Sumit and Dinesh, who each contributed six goals, while Mohit added five crucial points to the tally. This balanced scoring attack proved too much for the visiting Himachal Pradesh squad to handle.
Thrilling Draws Highlight Competitive Tournament
The tournament witnessed several closely contested matches that ended in dramatic draws. In Group A, UEM Jaipur and GNDU Amritsar battled to an exciting 30-30 stalemate. UEM Jaipur held a narrow 16-13 lead at halftime, but GNDU Amritsar mounted a spirited comeback after the break to level the score.
Ajay Yadav emerged as the standout performer for UEM Jaipur with an impressive 11 goals, while Shimbu and Mohit each scored six goals for GNDU Amritsar.
Another high-scoring draw occurred in Group B, where KAHE Coimbatore and VBS Purbanchal finished with identical 39-39 scores. Shubham Chouhan delivered an exceptional performance for Purbanchal, netting ten goals in the closely fought encounter.

- Periyar University, Salem delivered a resounding 45-15 victory over UOS and Technology, Meghalaya, powered by Goutam's remarkable 15-goal contribution
- Annamalai University, Chidambaram secured a comfortable 34-24 win against LN Mithila, Darbhanga
- Lovely Professional University, Phagwara defeated LNIPE, Gwalior 37-27 in another one-sided fixture
- Saurashtra University, Rajkot edged past Punjab University, Patiala by a narrow 23-21 margin
