IIT-BHU Varanasi to Host 87th Edition of Technex 2026
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi is set to host the 87th edition of Technex, Asia's oldest techno-management festival, from March 13 to 15, 2026. This prestigious event, with a legacy spanning nearly nine decades, continues to serve as a vital platform for technological exchange, innovation, and collaboration among academia, industry leaders, and students from across India and beyond.
Theme: Fragments of Infinity
The theme for Technex 2026 is 'Fragments of Infinity', which symbolises the limitless potential of human innovation. This concept highlights how individual ideas and intricate contributions collectively drive large-scale technological progress and advancement in various fields.
Robotic Showcases and Technological Exhibitions
According to an IIT-BHU spokesperson, one of the key highlights on the inaugural day will be a showcase of the Unitree G1 Humanoid Robot, developed by Unitree Robotics. This advanced robot is capable of walking, dancing, and performing complex movements with remarkable precision.
The exhibitions will also feature:
- Quadruped robotic systems with terrain demonstrations by Addverb Technologies
- Neuro-health devices with live demonstrations by Cerbotech
- Advanced holographic and 3D mapping technologies presented by Portalgraph from Japan
The day will be complemented by cultural performances, including a show by the Skeleton Dance Crew, blending technology with artistic expression.
Think Talks Lecture Series with Ferrari CEO
Technex 2026 will host its flagship lecture series 'Think Talks', bringing together distinguished leaders from diverse fields. The inaugural session will be delivered by Benedetto Vigna, the CEO of Ferrari, offering insights into innovation and leadership in the automotive and technology sectors.
Defence Symposium and Military Technology Exhibition
The festival will include a defence symposium and exhibition, organised in collaboration with the 39 GTC, Garhwal Rifles, and the 50 Para Brigade of the Indian Army. This exhibition will present a range of advanced military technologies, such as:
- Surveillance drones
- Night-vision equipment
- Defence vehicles
- Modern weapon systems

Hackathons and Indigenous Showcases
Technex 2026 will feature hackathons conducted by Jane Street and Tredence, providing students with opportunities to engage with real-world problem statements and develop innovative technological solutions. Additionally, the festival will host a dedicated ODOP (One District One Product) exhibition, showcasing indigenous products and craftsmanship from across the state, promoting local artisans and traditional skills.
