Vadodara Professor and Doctor Receive High Honors in Education and Medical Research
In a significant recognition of professional excellence, two distinguished individuals from Vadodara have been honored with prestigious awards in the fields of teacher education and medical research.
Professor R C Patel Honored with Eminent Teacher Educator Award
Professor R C Patel, the former vice chancellor of the Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE), has been conferred the Eminent Teacher Educator Award by the Indian Association of Teacher Educators. This esteemed award acknowledges his substantial contributions to the advancement of teacher education in India.
The award ceremony took place recently in Gangtok, Sikkim, and was attended by numerous academicians and education leaders from across the country. The honor was presented by Raju Basnet, Minister for Education, Law, Sports and Youth Affairs of the Government of Sikkim.
The event was graced by the presence of Professor Swain, Vice Chancellor of Sikkim University, and Professor Mohammad Miyan, former Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, highlighting the national significance of this recognition.
Dr Kedar Mehta Recognized for Excellence in Medical Research
In a separate but equally notable achievement, Dr Kedar Mehta, an associate professor at GMERS Medical College in Gotri, Vadodara, has been honored in the Excellence in Medical Research category at the Gujarat Healthcare Excellence Awards 2026.
The awards ceremony was held in Gandhinagar on Saturday and was organized by the Angdaan Charitable Trust Gujarat. The event saw approximately 235 applications from across the state, with 33 doctors, hospitals, and NGOs being felicitated in various categories for their outstanding contributions to healthcare.
The award was presented to Dr Mehta by Shankar Chaudhary, the Gujarat Assembly Speaker and Chairman of Banas Dairy, underscoring the importance of medical research in the state's development.
These awards reflect the ongoing commitment to excellence in both education and healthcare sectors, with Vadodara professionals making significant impacts at both state and national levels.
