Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Celebrates 58th Convocation with Over 8,700 Graduates
The 58th convocation ceremony of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) was conducted with great pomp and ceremony at the university's convention hall. The event was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Kishorsinh N Chavda, with Rajya Sabha MP Govind Dholakia gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
Massive Scale of Academic Achievements
A total of 8,726 students from diverse academic disciplines received their degrees during the convocation. The commerce faculty emerged as the largest contributor, with an impressive 3,707 graduates. Additionally, the university conferred 150 PhD and MPhil degrees, highlighting its commitment to advanced research and scholarship.
Digital Integration and Memorable Moments
In a significant move towards digital transparency, VNSGU announced that all degrees were uploaded to DigiLocker, the National Academic Depository, immediately following the ceremony. This initiative ensures easy access and verification of academic credentials for graduates.
A particularly touching moment captured widespread attention when Chief Guest Govind Dholakia knelt down to honour PhD degree holder Vrundani Patel, who stands two feet tall. This gesture of respect and inclusivity underscored the ceremony's emphasis on dignity and equality.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Kishorsinh N Chavda emphasized the critical need to blend education with cultural values, ethical principles, and social responsibility. He outlined the university's dedication to youth empowerment through several key strategies:

- Education: 192 graduates
- Science: 996 graduates
- Law: 186 graduates
- Medical Sciences: 782 graduates
- Computer Science: 1,317 graduates
