VTU Mysuru's Yukti 2026 Fest to Unite Technology and Culture with Massive Student Participation
The Regional Centre of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) in Mysuru is gearing up to host the regional-level Techno-Cultural Fest, Yukti 2026, at its premises on February 19 and 20. This highly anticipated event promises to be a vibrant showcase of both technical prowess and artistic talent, drawing participation from numerous engineering institutions across the region.
Objectives and Leadership Insights
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, HM Nanjundaswamy, the regional director of VTU Mysuru, emphasized the fest's core mission. "The main objective of Yukti 2026 is to uphold and promote our rich art and culture," he stated. "While our students are technically proficient, this platform provides them with a valuable opportunity to showcase their cultural and artistic talents as well." He revealed that approximately 53 engineering colleges are expected to participate, highlighting the event's significant reach and impact.
Inauguration and Celebrity Presence
The fest will be inaugurated by S Vidyashankar, the vice-chancellor of VTU, lending official prestige to the proceedings. Adding star power to the event, a lineup of notable personalities from the entertainment industry will attend, including:
- Film actor Sharan
- Actress Sonal Monterio
- Actor Dhananjay Kumar
- Singer Vasuki Vaibhav
- Playback singer Anish Vidyashankar
Diverse Competition Categories
Over the two days, students will engage in a wide array of competitions designed to test both their creative and technical skills. Participants must register to take part in these events, which include:
- Cultural Events: Group classical dance, solo dance, rangoli, fashion show, roadies, skit (short play), mime, dumb charades, collage, painting, photography, Mad Ads, solo singing, group singing, group dance, stand-up comedy, and general knowledge quiz.
- Technical Challenges: Code rush (coding challenge) and fire hacks (debugging challenge).
- Innovation Showcase: New product launch, encouraging entrepreneurial thinking.
With more than 1,200 students expected to compete across over 22 different events, Yukti 2026 is set to be a dynamic and action-packed celebration of student talent.
