CM Yogi Adityanath Inaugurates Advanced Computer Lab at Gorakhpur College

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a cutting-edge computer laboratory at Digvijaynath Post Graduate College in Gorakhpur on Monday. The modern facility is designed to play a pivotal role in promoting emerging technologies, research, and innovation among students, enhancing their educational experience.

Facility Established in Memory of Late Professor Tej Pratap Shahi

The computer lab has been set up by the family of former faculty member Tej Pratap Shahi in his memory, honoring his legacy as a dedicated academician. Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi emphasized that this initiative will significantly improve students' access to advanced learning tools and help them stay aligned with evolving technological trends in today's digital era.

The chief minister stated: "This laboratory will keep Shahi's legacy alive for generations, providing students with the resources needed to excel in technology-driven fields."

Remembering Professor Shahi's Contributions and Devotion

CM Yogi described the late professor, affectionately known as Bachcha Babu, as a committed educator and a senior member of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad. He highlighted Shahi's noteworthy contributions to education and society, noting his deep association with the Gorakshapeeth.

Despite being a Congress leader, Shahi remained steadfastly devoted to the ideals of the Peeth and stood firmly with Mahant Avaidyanath even during challenging times, showcasing his unwavering principles.

Personal Anecdote and Family Involvement

Sharing a personal recollection, Yogi Adityanath mentioned that Shahi had met him in Lucknow in July 2020 along with his sons, expressing a sense of premonition. "A week later, I learned he had contracted Covid-19. Soon after, he passed away," the CM said, reflecting on the tragic loss.

Earlier in the event, Shahi's family members, including Ananya Shahi and Atirek Shahi, welcomed the chief minister. College principal Prof Om Prakash Singh delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the new facility.
