Navya Naveli Nanda’s Journey to IIM Ahmedabad

When Nanda first started the MBA program, she kept her followers updated on her journey. She had revealed that she secured admission into the prestigious college, calling it a dream come true. At that time, she shared photos from the campus, including a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate her achievement. She also posted a picture of herself wearing a black and white pantsuit, smiling awkwardly at the camera while standing in front of IIM Ahmedabad.

Educational Background

Prior to her MBA, Nanda lived abroad and took a six-year break from formal education before deciding to pursue the degree. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Technology and UX Design from Fordham University. For her early education, she attended Sevenoaks School in London.

At IIM Ahmedabad, she opted for a blended program specifically designed for working professionals and entrepreneurs, allowing them to study while continuing their careers.

More About Navya Nanda

While Nanda is known for her dedication to education, she comes from one of India's most renowned families as the granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan. However, she has deliberately stayed away from the limelight of the entertainment industry and focused on forging her own path.

In an old interview with Mojo Story, she explained why she chose not to pursue a career in Bollywood. "No, never. I always get asked this... and I don't know why. I feel like I was always raised in a way that my parents told me that don't do something if you're not 100% passionate or confident, or it's something that you really want to do. It was never something that I wanted to do. I was always fascinated by tractors, my dad and what he was doing. And when he'd come back from work, I'd talk to him about it. That to me was far more exciting."

She added that while she loves movies and music, she never wanted deeper involvement in the film industry. In another interview with CNBC TV18, she cited her father’s work as an industrialist as her inspiration. "I’ve grown up in Delhi, I grew up around my father and my grandfather who are businessmen and industrialists. I think for me that’s what I saw more of growing up as a kid. I wasn’t around sets or films and glamour growing up. It was very much the stock markets and my father coming back and talking to me about tractors, which is what we do. That for me is where the passion lies."

Beyond her academic pursuits, Nanda has been involved in several ventures. She founded Project Naveli, a non-profit promoting gender equality and providing support to those in need. She is also the co-founder of a health tech brand focused on women’s health issues. Additionally, she hosts a podcast titled 'What The Hell Navya' alongside her mother Shweta Bachchan and grandmother Jaya Bachchan.

Over the past few years, Nanda has proven that she can achieve success on her own terms, independent of her family name.
