Jharkhand Launches Second Phase of Teacher Assessment for 1 Lakh Educators
1 Lakh Jharkhand Teachers Undergo Assessment Till Nov 20

In a significant move to strengthen the education system, the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has initiated the second phase of Teacher Need Assessment (TNA) for more than one lakh government school teachers across the state.

Assessment Timeline and Scale

The comprehensive evaluation exercise commenced on Tuesday and will continue until November 20, covering educators across 63 blocks throughout Jharkhand. This marks the second round of TNA, with the first assessment having been conducted in August this year, indicating the state's commitment to continuous teacher development.

Integration with Professional Development

Uma Shankar Singh, Secretary of the State School Education and Literacy Department, emphasized that the TNA is now formally integrated with the Continuous Capacity and Professional Development (CCPD) programme. This strategic integration aims to create a robust teaching ecosystem and improve the delivery of quality education to students across government schools.

Strict Monitoring and Implementation

The education department has issued strict directives to all district and block-level officials to ensure proper implementation of the assessment process. District Education Officers (DEOs), District Superintendents of Education (DSEs), and block-level officials have been instructed to visit at least two to three assessment centers daily during the exercise.

Secretary Singh emphasized zero tolerance toward negligence, stating that "Every provision in the standard operating procedure must be followed strictly. Even partial negligence in its implementation will not be tolerated."

To ensure smooth operations, the JEPC has established a special monitoring cell to promptly address complaints and operational concerns. Additionally, the assessment process is being supported by 28 technical experts who will provide necessary assistance, along with representatives from various educational NGOs supporting district-level operations.

This large-scale teacher assessment initiative represents Jharkhand's determined effort to enhance teaching standards and ultimately improve learning outcomes for students across the state's government school system.
