In a landmark achievement for educational infrastructure in Rajasthan, the Didwana-Kuchaman district administration has successfully issued land patta certificates to 1,025 government schools within just 30 days, setting a new benchmark across the state.
Record-Breaking Land Rights Initiative
The newly formed district, which was carved out of Nagaur, oversees 1,239 schools in total. With this massive drive, more than 80% of these institutions now possess verified land ownership—the highest proportion among all 41 districts in Rajasthan.
District Collector Mahendra Khadgawat revealed to Times of India that historically, not a single school in the district had a patta. All educational institutions were either situated on land donated by erstwhile Jodhpur rulers, generous donors, or government land. Notably, nearly 100 schools date back to the British period, operating for decades without formal land documentation.
Transformative Impact on Education Infrastructure
The administration achieved a major milestone on October 28 in Kuchaman, where 594 schools received pattas in a single day. The drive continued with priority, and with the allocation of pattas to another 55 schools on Saturday, the district crossed the significant 1,000-mark milestone—establishing a statewide record in regularizing land rights for educational institutions.
According to Khadgawat, the grant of pattas will eliminate long-standing hurdles that previously hampered the expansion and development of government schools. "Once a school receives its patta, every aspect of infrastructure development becomes smoother—from building new classrooms and laboratories to creating libraries and playgrounds," he emphasized.

The formal land titles are expected to have a transformative impact on public education in the region. Clear land ownership now unlocks access to various state and central government schemes, many of which require verified titles for grants related to:
