Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Inaugurates College Facilities and Unveils New Initiatives
In a significant move to bolster education and healthcare in the state, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday emphasized his government's unwavering commitment to these sectors. The announcement came during the inauguration of new infrastructure at Dera Natung Government College in Itanagar.
Infrastructure Boost for Educational Institutions
Speaking at the event, Khandu inaugurated a new administrative block, a prefabricated badminton and judo hall, and a recreation hall at the college. He stated that his administration is dedicated to bridging infrastructure gaps across educational institutions in Arunachal Pradesh, ensuring that students have access to modern facilities that support both academic and extracurricular activities.
The chief minister highlighted that this initiative is part of a broader effort to upgrade infrastructure while implementing academic reforms. These reforms aim to align the state's education standards with global benchmarks, as outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Launch of Arunachal Creative Economy Cell
In a groundbreaking announcement, Khandu revealed the creation of an "Arunachal Creative Economy" cell within the Chief Minister's office. This cell is designed to promote local talent in various creative fields, including arts, music, weaving, and other sectors. The goal is to provide global platforms for artisans and artists from the state, fostering economic growth and cultural preservation.
This move underscores the government's focus on diversifying the economy and leveraging indigenous skills to create new opportunities for residents.
Scholarship Initiatives for Global Exposure
Khandu also informed students about the government's scholarship program, which offers full sponsorship to those securing admission in the world's top 150 universities. He urged students to take advantage of this opportunity, emphasizing the importance of global exposure in today's competitive landscape.
This scholarship initiative is part of the 'Mission Shikshit Arunachal 2029' campaign, which aligns with the NEP 2020 and aims to transform the education sector in the state. The mission focuses on enhancing infrastructure, improving teaching quality, and increasing access to higher education opportunities both domestically and internationally.
Commitment to Healthcare and Overall Development
Beyond education, Khandu reiterated that his government has consistently prioritized the healthcare sector. While specific details were not elaborated in this event, the mention underscores a holistic approach to development, ensuring that both education and health remain key pillars of the state's progress.
The initiatives announced today reflect a comprehensive strategy to empower the youth, support local talent, and build a robust foundation for Arunachal Pradesh's future growth.
