Bokaro Schools Receive Comprehensive Fire Safety Training During National Observance
In a proactive move to enhance community safety, fire safety awareness drives are being vigorously implemented across educational institutions in Bokaro, with a focus on equipping students with essential life-saving skills. As part of the annual Fire Service Week, observed nationwide from April 14 to 20, a detailed and interactive awareness program was organized at Delhi Public School, Bokaro, spearheaded by the CISF unit of the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL).
Initiative Aims to Educate and Empower School Communities
The program was designed to provide comprehensive education on fire prevention and emergency response strategies, targeting not only students but also school staff and security personnel. Led by CISF fire inspectors Rajesh Kumar Rai and Nilesh Kumar, with support from head constable AA Khan and constable J Hajong, the sessions combined theoretical instruction with practical, hands-on demonstrations to ensure effective learning.
Emphasis on This Year's Safety Theme
Officials highlighted the 2024 theme, "Safe Schools, Safe Hospitals and a Fire-Aware Society", underscoring the critical role that awareness among children plays in accident prevention. By instilling these skills early, the initiative aims to foster a culture of safety that extends beyond the school environment into broader society.
Practical Training on Fire Extinguisher Usage
Students received specialized training in the operation of various types of fire extinguishers, with live demonstrations allowing them to practice under expert supervision. This hands-on approach is intended to build confidence and readiness, ensuring that participants can respond effectively in real emergency situations.
The ongoing efforts in Bokaro reflect a broader commitment to public safety, with similar programs expected to expand to other schools and institutions in the region, reinforcing the importance of preparedness and proactive measures in safeguarding communities.
