Parvathipuram-Manyam District Launches Mobile 'Career Fest Raths' for Student Guidance
In a significant educational initiative, the Parvathipuram-Manyam district in Andhra Pradesh has launched 'Career Fest Raths'—mobile units designed to guide Class X and Intermediate students toward informed career choices. The program, which began on March 9, aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas by providing comprehensive career counseling directly to students at the grassroots level.
Expert Teams Reach Students in Remote Areas
Teams of 12 expert career and mental health counselors are traveling across the district to visit schools and local communities. The raths are specifically targeting the four constituencies of Parvathipuram, Kurupam, Salur, and Palakonda, ensuring that students from remote and hilly villages have access to the same level of guidance available in urban centers.
The initiative offers a one-stop solution for students, providing information on scholarships, government schemes, and higher education opportunities. Special sessions are also conducted to help students manage exam-related stress, addressing both academic and mental well-being.
District Collector's Vision Drives the Program
The brainchild of district collector Dr. Prabhakar Reddy, the program emphasizes personal engagement and inclusivity. Dr. Reddy is personally visiting schools and interacting directly with students, addressing their queries online via IFP boards to instill confidence and clarity.
An official highlighted the collector's resolve, stating, "He addresses their queries online via IFP boards, instilling confidence and clarity. By meeting directly with illiterate parents, the program builds their trust in their children's future. The collector's resolve that 'no child should be left out of education due to lack of information' is resonating across towns and villages."
Comprehensive Support for Students and Parents
The program extends beyond student counseling to include meetings with parents, including those who are illiterate. These sessions ensure that parents have a clear understanding of educational opportunities and can support their children's aspirations effectively.
In addition to career guidance, the initiative aims to improve school facilities and support the development of students' skills, preparing them for future opportunities in a competitive world.
Key Objectives of the Career Fest Raths
- Provide expert career counseling to Class X and Intermediate students in remote areas.
- Offer mental health support to help students manage exam stress and anxiety.
- Disseminate information on scholarships, government schemes, and higher education options.
- Engage with parents to build trust and awareness about educational pathways.
- Enhance school facilities and skill development programs for holistic student growth.
This innovative approach not only empowers students with knowledge but also fosters a supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to pursue their dreams, regardless of their geographical location.
