CBSE Declares Class 10 Results with Gunika Khurana Achieving 99.6%

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officially announced the Class 10th examination results on April 15, 2026. This annual event continues to evoke intense emotions among students nationwide, characterized by nervous anticipation and the frantic refreshing of result portals. Among the standout achievers this year is Gunika Khurana, who secured an exceptional score of 99.6% in the CBSE Class 10 board exams.

From Doubt to Triumph: A Personal Journey

Gunika's story is not merely about academic brilliance but highlights perseverance, discipline, and emotional resilience. In an exclusive interview with The Times of India, she shared insights into her preparation, revealing that her motivation stemmed from a desire to make her parents proud. "I needed to do something to make them proud," Gunika stated, emphasizing that her parents provided unwavering support without imposing academic pressure.

Her preparation began early, during grade nine, influenced by teachers' reminders about the upcoming board exams. Gunika adopted a structured approach, focusing on consistency rather than counting study hours. "I did not really count the hours; I would just sit with my to-do list," she explained, noting that her daily study time increased to about six hours as exams approached.

Overcoming Challenges and Emotional Hurdles

Despite her success, Gunika faced significant challenges, particularly with Social Science. "SST is one subject which I found a bit challenging," she admitted, citing its vast syllabus and subjective nature. To overcome this, she relied on active recall techniques, with her father assisting through rapid-fire quizzes on topics like historical events and geographical facts.

Emotional vulnerability also played a crucial role in her journey. Before her first pre-board exam, Gunika experienced overwhelming anxiety, leading to tears. "I called out to my father, my parents just helped me calm down and reassured me that it's fine, we're going to support you," she recalled. This support was pivotal in helping her regain composure and continue her studies effectively.

Strategic Preparation and Practical Advice

Gunika's study methods included creating short notes, mind maps, and flowcharts for efficient last-minute revision. She emphasized the importance of thoroughly reading NCERT textbooks, stating, "You need to read every line of NCERT, every word, every line, every picture, every caption." For final preparation, she practiced extensively with CBSE past year papers to enhance recall and identify patterns.

Her advice to fellow students extends beyond academics. Gunika stressed the significance of emotional honesty and seeking help when needed. "Even if you're feeling down, you should not hesitate to ask for help," she advised, highlighting the importance of mental well-being amidst academic pressure.

Looking Ahead: Future Aspirations

With Science as her chosen stream, Gunika now sets her sights on engineering and plans to prepare for the JEE Mains exam. Her journey underscores that success is built on early preparation, daily habits, and the ability to navigate moments of doubt with resilience.

In a results season often dominated by percentages, Gunika Khurana's experience offers a refreshing perspective. It demonstrates that achieving top scores involves not just hard work but also emotional support, strategic planning, and the courage to persevere through challenges.
