The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially designated "Computational Thinking (CT) and Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI)" as the core training theme for the academic session 2026–27. This strategic move is a direct implementation of the guidelines outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023. It represents a significant effort to integrate cutting-edge technological concepts into the school education curriculum, with a strong emphasis on comprehensive teacher training.

New Curriculum for Classes 3 to 8

A major academic innovation has been introduced by CBSE with the launch of a specialized course titled "Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence," which will be taught from Class 3 to Class 8, commencing in the 2026-27 academic year. The curriculum is designed to enhance fundamental competencies such as logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and pattern recognition skills. Teachers can participate through an online registration process, which may involve a prescribed fee, and will receive CPD credits upon completion.
