CBSE Releases KVS/NVS 2025 Tier I Exam Dates & City

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the examination schedule for the first stage of the recruitment drive for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). This announcement, pertaining to recruitment notification 01/2025, is specifically for candidates who have successfully submitted their online applications for various teaching and non-teaching positions.

Examination Dates and Shift-Wise Schedule

The Tier I examination is scheduled exclusively over two days in January 2026. On the first day, January 10, 2026, the morning shift from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM will be conducted for the posts of Primary Teacher, Junior Secretariat Assistant, and Lab Attendant. The exam duration is two hours.

Later on the same day, the afternoon shift from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM will cater to candidates applying for Multi-Tasking Staff positions under the HQ and RO cadre. This session will also last for two hours.

Schedule for Senior Administrative and Teaching Posts

The examinations for senior roles will be held on January 11, 2026. The morning session, again from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, is designated for the posts of Assistant Commissioner, Principal, Vice Principal, and Post Graduate Teacher.

The afternoon shift on January 11, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, is packed with examinations for several positions. This includes Trained Graduate Teacher, miscellaneous teacher posts, Librarian, Administrative Officer, Finance Officer, Junior Translator, Assistant Engineer, Assistant Section Officer, Senior Secretariat Assistant, Stenographer Grade I, and Stenographer Grade II.

How to Check Your Allotted Exam City

CBSE has already assigned the examination city to all eligible applicants. Candidates must log in to the official CBSE examination portal using their specific credentials to check this detail.

Important Login Instructions:

  • Use your Registration Number (which begins with the digits 2598) and the password created during registration.
  • Do not use your Application Number for login purposes.

The board has issued a strict warning in its public notice. Requests for changing the allotted examination city will not be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are also advised that no separate individual communication will be sent regarding the exam city or schedule.

Admit Card Release and Further Updates

The admit cards, containing the full address and details of the exact examination centre, will be made available for download on the official portal two days prior to the examination date.
