CDO Deeksha Jain Chairs High-Level Meeting, Directs Launch of Village Campaigns for Universal School Enrollment

In a significant move to bolster child education, a comprehensive review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer (CDO) Deeksha Jain on Saturday. The meeting focused on implementing robust strategies to ensure that every eligible child in the district is enrolled in school, with officials being directed to launch special campaigns in every village to achieve this critical goal.

Daily Monitoring and Door-to-Door Surveys to Identify Out-of-School Children

CDO Deeksha Jain issued clear instructions that daily enrollment reports must be shared at the district level to enable regular and effective monitoring of the campaign's progress. She placed strong emphasis on conducting meticulous door-to-door surveys across all villages. These surveys are designed to actively identify children who are currently not attending school, with the immediate objective of facilitating their admission into the formal education system.

The initiative, known as the School Chalo Abhiyan, has the explicit aim of connecting every eligible child with formal education, thereby addressing gaps in school attendance and enrollment rates.

Removing Admission Barriers and Ensuring Public Participation

In a crucial clarification to remove potential obstacles, CDO Jain stated that no child will be denied admission due to the absence of documents such as a birth certificate or Aadhaar card. This policy is intended to streamline the enrollment process and ensure that administrative hurdles do not prevent children from accessing education.

She further highlighted the indispensable role of public participation in the campaign's success. Residents are being actively urged to assist in identifying out-of-school children in their communities and to support efforts to enrol them in nearby primary schools, fostering a collaborative community approach to education.

Integrating Health and Nutrition Programs for Holistic Child Development

Chief Medical Officer Hari Dutt Nemi, who was also present at the meeting, outlined a complementary health strategy. He announced that alongside the educational drive, health check-ups, vaccination programs, and nutrition initiatives will be implemented effectively in schools. This integrated approach is designed to ensure the overall development and well-being of children, recognizing that health and education are fundamentally interconnected.

Comprehensive Awareness Drives and Rallies Planned

To amplify the campaign's reach and impact, a series of supporting activities have been planned. These include organizing rallies, conducting School Management Committee (SMC) meetings, and running extensive awareness drives at both the school and block levels. These efforts are aimed at mobilizing community support and keeping the importance of education at the forefront of public consciousness.

The high-level meeting saw the participation of key officials including block education officers, the district inspector of schools, the basic education officer, and the district programme officer, among others, underscoring the district administration's collective commitment to this vital educational mission.
