In a significant move to ensure inclusivity, South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus has issued a directive requiring all centers hosting the upcoming NEET (UG) examination to be made fully accessible to persons with disabilities. This mandate includes providing wheelchair access and making suitable arrangements on accessible floors, as part of a comprehensive preparedness review conducted ahead of the national medical entrance test.

The meeting, which was chaired by Collector Egna Cleetus along with South Goa Superintendent of Police Santosh Dessai, saw participation from a wide range of officials. Senior police officials, principals, and teachers from PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 and No. 2, along with representatives from various departments, attended to discuss and coordinate efforts for the smooth conduct of the examination.
Security and Sensitization Measures Emphasized
On the security front, officials have tasked Mamlatdars with carrying out first-level sensitization in coordination with the police to maintain a vigilant environment. This initiative aims to ensure that all personnel involved are aware of and responsive to the needs of candidates, particularly those with disabilities.
Regarding the examination's conduct, officials have emphasized several key protocols:
- Valid ID Cards: All candidates will be required to present valid identification cards as a mandatory measure.
- Separate Frisking Arrangements: Separate frisking facilities for male and female candidates will be ensured to maintain privacy and comfort.
- Registration and Biometric Verification: Proper registration and biometric verification processes will be implemented to enhance security and prevent any malpractices.
These measures are part of a broader effort to uphold the integrity and accessibility of the NEET examination in South Goa, reflecting a commitment to equal opportunities for all aspirants, including those with disabilities.
