Goa GSCERT Initiates Comprehensive NEP-2020 Orientation Program Across Talukas
The Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training (GSCERT) has officially launched a detailed, taluka-wise orientation program focused on the National Education Policy (NEP–2020). This initiative is specifically designed for parent-teachers’ associations (PTAs), school management committees (SMCs), and management members from government, government-aided, and unaided primary and high schools throughout the state.
Program Commencement and Objectives
The orientation program is scheduled to commence in Quepem on February 23, marking the beginning of a series of sessions across various talukas. The primary goal of this program is to strengthen awareness and deepen understanding of the provisions, objectives, and implementation framework outlined in NEP–2020. By engaging key stakeholders at the grassroots level, GSCERT aims to ensure a smooth and effective rollout of the policy.
Essential Role of Parental Participation
Officials have emphasized that active participation from parents is crucial for the successful and effective implementation of NEP–2020 at the school level. Parents play a vital role in supporting educational reforms, and their involvement is seen as a cornerstone for achieving the policy's goals of holistic and inclusive education.
Key Participants and Interactive Platform
The program will feature senior officials from multiple educational bodies, including:
- GSCERT
- Directorate of Education
- Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education
- Goa Samagra Shiksha
This gathering provides a unique opportunity for parents and management members to interact directly with policymakers and senior officials. The interactive platform is designed to foster open dialogue, allow for the clarification of doubts, and encourage constructive feedback, thereby creating a collaborative environment for addressing challenges and optimizing implementation strategies.
Expected Outcomes and Future Steps
Through this taluka-wise approach, GSCERT hopes to build a strong foundation of knowledge and support for NEP–2020 across Goa's educational landscape. The program is expected to enhance coordination between schools, parents, and management, leading to more informed decision-making and improved educational outcomes. Future sessions will continue in other talukas, ensuring widespread coverage and engagement.
