GSHSEB Exams: Class 10 and 12 Papers Align Closely with Syllabus, Students Report Smooth Experience
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) conducted examinations on Monday, with assessments for both Class 10 and Class 12 Science students. According to initial reports, the papers were predominantly based on the prescribed syllabus, offering a straightforward experience for well-prepared candidates.
Class 10 Second Language Papers: Textbook-Focused and Manageable
Class 10 students appeared for second-language papers, including Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Sindhi, Persian, and Arabic. Mitesh Pathak, a subject expert, highlighted that the Hindi paper was primarily drawn from the textbook. Essay topics such as "Mera Desh Mahan" and discussions on the advantages and disadvantages of science were included, reflecting the curriculum's emphasis on comprehensive learning.
Most questions in the Hindi paper were directly from the syllabus, enabling students to complete it with ease. Similarly, the Sanskrit paper adhered closely to the textbook, with grammar sections and shlokas sourced from topics covered in the course material. This alignment ensured that students who had thoroughly prepared faced minimal challenges.
Class 12 Science Biology: Textbook-Based with Minor Twists
For Class 12 Science students, the biology examination was also reported to be largely based on the prescribed textbook. Part A featured a mix of numerical-type questions and diagram-based inquiries, which were manageable for those who had studied the material diligently. However, some students noted that approximately five multiple-choice questions in this section were slightly tricky, requiring careful attention.
In Part B, the inclusion of general options made the paper easier for many candidates. Although three to four questions were presented in a slightly twisted manner, the availability of alternatives helped students navigate these without major difficulties. Overall, the biology paper was designed to test core knowledge while providing flexibility through option-based answers.
Overall Assessment: Syllabus Adherence and Student Feedback
The GSHSEB exams on Monday demonstrated a strong focus on syllabus adherence, with both Class 10 second languages and Class 12 Science Biology papers reflecting the prescribed curriculum. Students reported that the papers were fair and aligned with their preparation, contributing to a positive examination experience. This approach underscores the board's commitment to assessing fundamental knowledge and ensuring that assessments are accessible to all learners.
