GSHSEB Finalizes Class 12 Science Answer Keys, Awards Grace Marks
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has officially finalized the answer keys for the Class 12 science stream, marking a crucial step towards the announcement of the upcoming results. Despite allowing a window for student objections until April 4, the board's subject experts have rejected all new representations, opting to uphold the provisional key with its existing corrections.
Final Answer Key Declared Without Changes
As a result, the board has declared the previously released provisional answer key as the final version without making any alterations. This decision comes after a thorough review process, where the board maintained its stance on the corrections already implemented.
Grace Marks Awarded for Discrepancies in Physics and Chemistry
According to the final answer key, certain discrepancies identified earlier in the physics and chemistry papers have led to the awarding of grace marks to students. In the chemistry paper, Gujarati- and Hindi-medium students were granted one mark each due to an error in one question, while English-medium students received two marks for errors in two questions.
Similarly, in the physics paper, Gujarati-medium students were awarded three grace marks, whereas Hindi- and English-medium students were given two marks each. No errors were found in the mathematics and biology papers, ensuring no adjustments were necessary for these subjects.
Overall Compensation for Students
Overall, based on the final answer key, Gujarati- and English-medium students will be compensated with four marks, while Hindi-medium students will receive three marks. This benefit will be directly reflected in the final results, providing a fair adjustment for the identified errors.
Evaluation Process Nears Completion
With the release of the final answer key, the evaluation process is expected to proceed towards completion. The board is now likely to announce the Class 12 science results soon, bringing clarity and closure to students awaiting their outcomes.
