Indore Evaluators Achieve Mammoth Task: 8.5 Lakh Answer Sheets Checked on Time
In a remarkable display of efficiency and coordination, evaluators in Indore have successfully completed the daunting task of checking more than eight lakh answer sheets for the Class 5 and Class 8 Madhya Pradesh board examinations by the March 15 deadline. What initially seemed like an impossible race against time turned into a well-executed operation, ensuring timely results for thousands of students across the district.
Initial Challenges and Workforce Expansion
The district faced a massive volume of nearly 8.5 lakh answer sheets that needed evaluation across six designated centres. Initially, around 1,100 teachers were assigned to this critical work, with each expected to check approximately 40 copies per day. At this pace, only about 44,000 answer sheets could be examined daily, making it highly challenging to meet the tight deadline set by the education authorities.
Recognizing the urgency, the education department swiftly intervened to accelerate the process. The evaluation workforce was dramatically expanded from the initial 1,100 to nearly 4,000 teachers in the final phase of the assessment. This strategic increase in manpower allowed the centres to significantly boost their daily output, enabling them to complete the mammoth task within the stipulated timeframe.
Collaborative Efforts and Administrative Coordination
To further bolster the evaluation efforts, teachers from private schools were brought in to assist their counterparts from government schools. This collaborative approach created a large and diverse pool of evaluators who worked tirelessly across the six centres in Indore. District Project Coordinator (DPC) Sanjay Mishra explained the department's proactive response to the initial workforce shortage. "We had to complete the task within the deadline, so the number of evaluators increased. Teachers from private schools were also included along with government teachers. In total, around 4,000 teachers were engaged in the evaluation process, which helped us complete the work on time," Mishra stated, emphasizing the critical role of swift administrative action.

Officials have confirmed that the answer sheets have now been compiled, and the meticulous task of tabulating marks is currently underway.
