The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared that the deadline for raising objections against the provisional answer keys of JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 is April 13, 2026. Candidates must submit any challenges by 11:50 PM on this date, as no objections will be entertained after this period under any circumstances.
Examination Details and Availability of Materials
JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 was conducted across multiple dates:
- Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.): April 02, 04, 05, 06, and 08, 2026
- Paper 2A (B.Arch.) & Paper 2B (B.Planning): April 07, 2026
The examination took place in 567 centres spread across 306 cities within India and 14 cities overseas, ensuring widespread accessibility for aspirants.
Currently, the provisional answer keys, along with the question paper and response sheet for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), are available on the official NTA website. Students who appeared for the exam can review their responses and file objections if necessary.
Fee Payment and Challenge Process
For each challenge filed, candidates are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per question. Payments must be made using debit card, credit card, or net banking, with no other methods permitted. The payment deadline aligns with the objection filing deadline, closing at 11:50 PM on April 13, 2026. Challenges submitted without the requisite fee will not be considered.
Steps to Submit Objections Online
- Log in to the official NTA website using your application number and password.
- Click on the challenge button and select the desired question ID.
- Choose the option you wish to challenge and upload supporting documents as a single PDF file.
- Submit your claim and proceed to make the payment for the challenge fee.
Final Answer Key and Result Compilation
In cases where valid challenges are raised, the answer key will be modified accordingly. This modified version will be uniformly applied to all candidates, and the final results will be compiled based on this updated key. The NTA has clarified that candidates will not receive individual notifications regarding the acceptance or rejection of their challenges. The final answer key, prepared by subject experts, will be conclusive and binding for all purposes.
This process ensures transparency and fairness in the evaluation of JEE Main 2026, a critical examination for engineering aspirants across India and abroad.
