Students at The Kalyani School recently transformed their campus into a vibrant time capsule, hosting the spectacular 'Mad About Civilisations and Empires' exhibition. This grand annual event offered visitors a rich, immersive journey through the great empires and civilisations that have defined human history.
A Wholesome Historical Experience
The 'Mad About' event series is known for creating a complete cultural experience, and this year was no exception. The school grounds buzzed with activity as visitors explored a wide array of displayed artwork, enjoyed live performances, participated in interactive games, and visited numerous theme-based stalls. The occasion was honoured by the presence of CBSE Pune region's Regional Officer, R K Balani, who attended as the guest of honour.
From Classrooms to Courtyards: A Campus Alive with History
Class clusters from Nursery to Grade IX became dynamic hubs of learning and display. Visitors immersed themselves in the fascinating stories of remarkable ancient worlds, including Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Chinese, Indus Valley, and Greek civilisations, among several others. The energy spilled out into the courtyard, where multiple flash mobs erupted with enthusiastic participation. Leading the lively dances were the school's Director, Deeksha Kalyani, and Principal, Nirmal Waddan, alongside other dignitaries, adding a joyful and participatory spirit to the day.
Student-Led Initiatives and Creative Stalls
Adding a layer of entrepreneurial and creative flair, students of Class XI took charge of setting up engaging stalls. These stalls featured theme-aligned games, delicious food items, and exquisite handmade artefacts, all thoughtfully curated to reflect the essence of the ancient civilisations being celebrated. Their initiative demonstrated a deep understanding of the theme and provided a hands-on learning experience for both the creators and the visitors.
The 'Mad About Civilisations and Empires' exhibition successfully moved beyond textbook learning, offering a tangible, engaging, and memorable exploration of humanity's shared heritage. It underscored the school's commitment to holistic and experiential education, making history come alive for its entire community.
