Karnataka SSLC Class 10 Prep Exam Time Table 2026 Out

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has officially unveiled the examination schedule for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Class 10 preparatory tests for the academic year 2026. This strategic move aims to provide students with a structured rehearsal ahead of the crucial final board examinations.

Three-Tier Preparatory Exam Schedule Announced

In a significant decision to bolster student readiness, KSEAB will conduct three preparatory examinations for the SSLC Class 10 batch of 2026. These tests are designed to simulate the actual board exam environment, helping learners gauge their preparation level and identify areas needing improvement.

The board has confirmed that all exams will be held in a single shift, from 10:00 am to 1:15 pm. The detailed schedule is as follows:

Preparatory Exam 1 & 2: Key Dates and Subjects

The first preparatory test series is set to commence the new year. Preparatory Exam 1 will run from January 5 to January 10, 2026. Shortly after, students will appear for the second series. Preparatory Exam 2 is scheduled from January 27 to February 2, 2026.

The subject-wise schedule for both Exam 1 and Exam 2 is identical in order:

  • January 5 / January 27, 2026: First Language (Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, English, English NCERT, Sanskrit)
  • January 6 / January 28, 2026: Mathematics
  • January 7 / January 29, 2026: Second Language (English, Kannada)
  • January 8 / January 30, 2026: Third Language (Hindi, Hindi NCERT, Kannada, English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Sanskrit, Konkani, Tulu)
  • January 9 / January 31, 2026: Science
  • January 10 / February 2, 2026: Social Science

Final Preparatory Test and Its Purpose

The third and final preparatory examination will be held later in the academic cycle. Preparatory Exam 3 is slated for February 23 to February 28, 2026, following the same subject sequence as the previous tests.

These examinations serve a critical purpose. They familiarise students with the SSLC examination pattern, the extent of syllabus coverage, and the formal atmosphere of a board exam. Performance analysis from these tests enables both schools and individual students to pinpoint weaknesses and focus their revision efforts strategically before the final showdown.
