KVS Admission 2026 Results: Comprehensive Guide to Provisional Lists and Key Dates
The registration process for the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) admission cycle for the upcoming 2026-27 academic session has officially concluded. Students and their guardians across the nation are now eagerly anticipating the release of the provisional selection lists, which will determine admissions into various classes.
Registration Completion and Initial Phase Details
The online registration process for Balvatika-1, Balvatika-3, and Class I was conducted from March 20, 2026, to April 2, 2026. With this phase now complete, the admission process has advanced to its next critical stage, which involves the declaration of results throughout the month of April.
First Provisional List Release Dates
The first provisional list of selected and waitlisted students is scheduled for release on April 8, 2026, covering Balvatika-1, Balvatika-2 (where applicable), and Balvatika-3. For Class I admissions, the list will be declared on April 9, 2026.
Important regional note: In the states of Assam and Kerala, along with the union territory of Puducherry, both Balvatika and Class I lists will be announced on April 10, 2026. This delay is due to polling activities for general elections in these regions.
The provisionally prepared lists will include names of selected candidates along with their corresponding waiting lists. The admission process will be conducted in multiple phases, beginning with Right to Education (RTE) candidates, followed by Service Priority Category I and II, and finally other vacant seats.
Subsequent Provisional Lists and Offline Admissions
In the event that seats remain vacant after the initial round, KVS will release a second provisional list on April 16, 2026. A third provisional list is scheduled for April 21, 2026. These subsequent lists will facilitate further admissions based on seat availability following earlier rounds.
For special categories, if adequate applications are not received through the online process, a second notification for offline registrations under RTE, SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) categories will be issued on April 21, 2026. Registrations under this provision will take place from April 22 to April 26, 2026, with list displays and admissions scheduled between April 27 and April 30, 2026.
Admissions for Other Classes and Class XI Specifics
For classes Balvatika-2 and Class II onward (excluding Class XI), offline admissions will be conducted from April 2 to April 8, 2026, subject to vacancy availability. The list of selected candidates for these classes will be announced on April 13, 2026, with admissions carried out from April 15 to April 20, 2026.
Admissions to Class XI will commence following the announcement of Class X Board examination results by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). For existing Kendriya Vidyalaya students, registration will begin within ten days of the result announcement. The admission list will be displayed and admissions completed within twenty days of Class X result declaration.
For non-KV students, the process will initiate after admissions of KV students, contingent upon seat availability. The final date for admission to Class XI is set at 30 days from the declaration of Class X results.
Final Admission Deadlines and Display Requirements
The last date for admission to all classes except Class XI is June 30, 2026. Should vacant seats persist, admissions may be extended up to July 31, 2026, subject to approval by the Deputy Commissioner and adherence to recommended strength guidelines.
KVS has mandated that all admission lists must be prominently displayed on school websites, social media pages, and physical notice boards to ensure maximum visibility and accessibility for all stakeholders.
